Advanced Data Exports

Beyond the two required reports in the Epicor Eagle Integration, Eagle can export your operational history — sales, receiving, purchase orders, promotions, vendor terms. These exports power the AI assistant’s Advanced Mode: deep analysis over months of real sales and movement data, across every store.

They are optional. Core FastQuery — inventory, tasks, everyday chat — works fully without them.

The Promos export does double duty: beyond Advanced Mode analysis, it also enriches everyday item lookups — each item’s currently-active promo terms appear on its product page and in chat answers.

Setting them up

The setup is the same as the required reports, minus the schedules — you already made the nightly schedule, and all of these reuse it. For each query:

1. Download the query file from the table above to the computer running Compass.
2. Import it: Tools > Profile Wizard > Import Profile, scope System, named exactly after the file — FastQuery POS, FastQuery ITR, and so on.
3. Create a scheduled task for it, following the same nine wizard steps as the required reports: same Export Data action, same CSV File format, same SFTP delivery. Only two things differ — type this query’s file name from the table (for example pos), and pick your nightly schedule.

The file name is how FastQuery recognizes each report. On the wizard’s file-name screen, type it exactly as the table shows: pos for sales, itr for inventory movements, po-history for closed purchase orders, po for open ones, promos, vendor. A different name won’t load into the right place.

Date windows are flexible. For the history exports (POS, ITR, PO History), a file can cover any date range you like — FastQuery replaces each calendar day it contains as a whole, for each store it contains, so overlapping deliveries are always safe and never double-count. We recommend a trailing 7-day window on the nightly schedule: any outage shorter than a week then heals itself on the next delivery, with no files to re-send.

One file per store works too. Because a file only ever replaces the stores it contains, you can run a history export once per store with Compass’s Dimension Delivery, the same way as the catalog export, to split a large nightly job into smaller ones. One store’s file never touches another store’s data.

Don’t change the columns. Each export is checked against its expected layout on arrival. A file with added, removed, or renamed columns is rejected (and flagged on your Integrations page) rather than loaded wrong. If you need a layout change, talk to us first.

Loading your history

The nightly schedule keeps the data current going forward — but the analysis is only as good as the history behind it. When you first set up, send the past 2 years of each history export in one go. Two years is enough for year-over-year comparisons and typically reaches past your last full physical inventory count.

We provide ready-made backfill versions of the history queries — same reports, with the date range preset to the past 730 days:

Set each one up like any other query — import the file, then create a scheduled task with the same nine wizard steps, using the file name from this table. The only differences: on the last screen, click Execute Now instead of waiting for the schedule, and once the file has gone through, delete the task (right-click it > Delete) — a backfill only needs to run once.

Very large history files can be too big for SFTP — if a file won’t go through, contact us and we’ll load it for you directly.

Using the data

Once the exports are flowing, Advanced Mode becomes available in chat for users with the chat:advanced_mode permission — see Roles and Permissions. Advanced Mode conversations draw on your organization’s monthly advanced budget, described in Budget and Pricing.

You can watch the exports arrive in the Advanced Data Exports section of the Integrations → Epicor Eagle page — one row per export, showing when its last file was received and loaded, and which of the supported columns it carries. When FastQuery begins supporting a column your export doesn’t include yet, the row names it, so you know to add it to your query. FastQuery alerts you if a nightly export stops flowing.
