Barcode Scanning

Scan barcodes to instantly look up products — no searching or typing needed. Just point your phone’s camera at a barcode and FastQuery handles the rest.

Scanning in Chat

Use the scanner to quickly pull up a product and ask the AI about it:

1. Open the Chat tab
2. Tap the barcode icon to open the scanner overlay
3. Point your camera at a product barcode
4. The scanner detects the barcode automatically — no need to tap a capture button
5. Once scanned, the product is loaded into your conversation

Now you can ask the AI anything about that product:

• “How many do we have?”
• “When did we last order this?”
• “What aisle is this in?”
• “Are there similar products in stock?”

Scanning in Counting Tasks

When you’re working through a counting task, the barcode scanner is built right into the workflow:

1. Open a counting task from the Tasks tab
2. The scanner activates automatically
3. Scan items to record your counts
4. Color overlays show your progress as you go — so you can see at a glance what’s been counted
5. Audio feedback confirms each successful scan with a beep

This makes inventory counts faster and more accurate than manual entry.

Supported Barcode Formats

FastQuery supports the most common retail barcode types:

• UPC — Standard retail product barcodes
• EAN — International product barcodes
• Code 128 — Used on shipping labels and internal tags
• Interleaved 2 of 5 — Common on warehouse and distribution labels
